When two major Brazilian oil companies merged, they faced a challenge most brands never have to solve: how do you get customers excited about something that doesn’t physically exist yet? They brought Elation Digital in to answer that question — and we answered it with an HD 360° immersive virtual reality experience.
Immersive 360° Station Preview
We built a fully immersive Immersive 360° Video Experience that transported participants directly inside the newly designed gas stations — before a single one had been built. Every detail of the new brand environment was rendered in high definition, from the forecourt layout to the interior design and signage.
Participants put on a headset and walked through the future. They could look around freely in every direction, getting a genuine feel for the new station experience rather than viewing a flat render on a screen or a brochure. It made the merger tangible and real at a time when the physical transformation was still months away.
Why VR Was the Right Call
A poster or video ad could have announced the merger. Only a Virtual Reality Experience could make people feel it. Putting customers inside the new stations created an emotional connection to the rebrand long before the first location opened — generating anticipation and buy-in at exactly the right moment in the brand transition.
Attendees left having already experienced the new brand, not just heard about it. The activation gave both companies a powerful tool to communicate their shared vision to customers, stakeholders, and staff — all through a single, shareable, unforgettable experience.
